What is Peer Helping?

Peer Helping refers to formal and informal occasions in a defined community where two or more individuals with mutually perceived similarities interact - and where at least one of them, who has had appropriate training, intentially assists at least one of the others. Refer to About Us.

How do I apply to become a Peer Helper?

An invitation goes out in February via NMMU Communique, inviting NMMU students to apply to become a Peer Helper.

Can any student apply?

We would like non-final year students to apply.  The Peer Helpers enter into a contract with Student Counselling, Career and Development Centre.  The contract term runs from 1 April - 30 March (the following year).
